Zone of saturation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003160
The region beneath the Earth's surface where all the pore spaces in the soil and rock are completely filled with water. This zone is also known as the phreatic zone, and its upper boundary is the water table. Water in this zone is groundwater and moves under the influence of hydraulic gradients.
