Denver convergence-vorticity zone

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010466

A localized area of enhanced low-level convergence and cyclonic vorticity that forms near Denver, Colorado, often due to the interaction of prevailing winds with the Rocky Mountains. This zone frequently leads to the development of thunderstorms and other convective weather phenomena over the urban area and adjacent plains.
