Detrend

To remove a long-term trend or systematic variation from a time series of meteorological data. This process isolates the shorter-term fluctuations or anomalies from the underlying progression. Detrending is often performed using statistical methods such as linear regression or moving averages to reveal periodic cycles or abrupt changes.
