Detrainment

The process by which air from an organized atmospheric flow, such as a cloud or jet stream, mixes with and disperses into the surrounding environmental air. This mixing typically occurs at the edges of the flow and can lead to the dissipation of clouds or the weakening of atmospheric currents. Detrainment is the opposite of entrainment.
