Disturbed soil sample

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005077

A sample of soil collected in a manner that alters its natural structure, density, and moisture content. While not ideal for measuring properties sensitive to soil fabric, disturbed samples are suitable for determining characteristics like grain size distribution, Atterberg limits, and chemical composition. These samples are often used in studies of soil-atmosphere interactions and hydrological modeling.
