Drawdown curve
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005131
A graphical representation of the change in hydraulic head or water level in an aquifer as a function of distance from a pumping well. The curve shows that the drawdown, or lowering of the water table, is greatest at the well and decreases with increasing distance, forming a cone of depression. The shape and extent of the drawdown curve are determined by the pumping rate, pumping duration, and the aquifer's properties, such as its transmissivity and storativity.
