Recovery test

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008454

A hydrological test conducted on a well or aquifer system to observe the rate at which the water level returns to its original static level after pumping has ceased. This test provides information about the hydraulic properties of the aquifer, such as transmissivity and storativity. Data from recovery tests are used to refine groundwater models.
