Slug test

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008949

A hydrogeological test performed in a well to determine the hydraulic conductivity of an aquifer. It involves rapidly adding or removing a known volume of water (a 'slug') from the well and then monitoring the subsequent recovery of the water level over time. The rate of recovery provides data to calculate the aquifer's ability to transmit water.
