Recording rain gauge

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008453

An instrument that continuously measures and records the amount and intensity of precipitation over time. Unlike a standard rain gauge that only provides total accumulation, this device captures the rate at which rain falls. Common types include tipping bucket gauges, which record each increment of rainfall, and weighing gauges, which measure the accumulated mass of precipitation.
