Nonrecording rain gauge

An instrument designed to collect and measure the total amount of precipitation over a specific period without continuously recording the rate or timing of rainfall. It consists of a collecting funnel that directs precipitation into a calibrated measuring tube or container. Measurements are taken manually at regular intervals, such as daily or hourly, to determine accumulated rainfall.
