Enhancement curve
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005383
A graphical representation showing the relationship between the brightness temperature measured by a satellite radiometer and the assigned display temperature or color for an enhanced image. This curve is used to map a range of raw satellite data values to a more visually distinct range for interpretation. Different enhancement curves are designed to emphasize specific meteorological phenomena, such as severe thunderstorms or fog.
