Area-elevation curve

A graphical representation showing the relationship between the cumulative surface area of a drainage basin or reservoir and its corresponding elevation. This curve is used in hydrology to estimate water storage capacity, analyze flood inundation, and calculate average basin characteristics. It is derived from topographic maps or digital elevation models.
