Erosion ridge

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005466

A landform created by the differential removal of material by erosional processes, leaving behind a resistant elevated feature. In atmospheric contexts, these ridges can be formed by wind erosion, where softer sediments are scoured away, leaving behind more consolidated or protected material. Examples include yardangs in desert environments, sculpted by persistent winds.
