Eustatic sea level changes
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005487
Global changes in the absolute volume of water in the oceans, leading to worldwide alterations in sea level. These changes are primarily driven by variations in the amount of water stored in glaciers and ice sheets, and by thermal expansion or contraction of ocean water. Eustatic changes are distinct from local, relative sea level changes caused by land uplift or subsidence.
