Extraterrestrial radiation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-000920
Solar radiation received at the top of Earth's atmosphere, before any attenuation by atmospheric gases, clouds, or aerosols. This radiation is primarily in the visible and infrared spectrum. Its intensity varies slightly throughout the year due to changes in Earth's orbital distance from the Sun.
The theoretically-calculated radiation flux from the sun at the top of the atmosphere, before losses by atmospheric absorption.
