A short line or barb attached to the shaft of a wind barb on a weather map, indicating wind speed. Each full feather represents 10 knots, a half-feather represents 5 knots, and a pennant represents 50 knots. Multiple feathers and pennants are combined to show total wind speed at a specific location.
