Frontogenetical function

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005815

A mathematical expression used in meteorology to quantify the rate of frontogenesis or frontolysis, indicating whether a front is strengthening or weakening. It considers contributions from horizontal temperature advection, horizontal deformation, and vertical motion. A positive value indicates frontogenesis, while a negative value indicates frontolysis.
