Geomagnetic latitude
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005919
The angular distance of a point on the Earth's surface north or south of the geomagnetic equator, measured along a geomagnetic meridian. This coordinate system is used to organize and analyze phenomena related to the Earth's magnetic field, such as the occurrence of auroras and cosmic ray intensity. It is typically expressed in degrees, similar to geographic latitude.
