Geomagnetic meridian

A great circle on the Earth's surface that passes through the geomagnetic north and south poles. These lines are used as a coordinate system for studying phenomena related to the Earth's magnetic field, such as the aurora. They are distinct from geographic meridians, which pass through the rotational poles.
