Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006691
A line on a map connecting points that experience the aurora borealis or aurora australis with the same average frequency or intensity. These lines delineate regions of similar auroral activity, often showing concentric patterns around the magnetic poles. Isochasms are derived from long-term observations of geomagnetic activity and visual sightings of the aurora.
