Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008046
Either of the two points on a rotating body where the axis of rotation intersects its surface, such as the Earth's North and South Poles. In meteorology, these regions are characterized by extremely cold temperatures, unique atmospheric circulation patterns, and specific climate zones.
