Geomagnetic pole
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005921
Either of two points on the Earth's surface where the axis of a best-fit dipole model of the Earth's magnetic field intersects the surface. These poles are distinct from the geographic poles and are where the geomagnetic field lines are vertical. The geomagnetic north pole is currently located in the Arctic Ocean, while the geomagnetic south pole is in Antarctica.
