High water

The maximum elevation reached by a rising tide or a flood event in a body of water, such as an ocean, river, or lake. This level is influenced by astronomical forces (tides), meteorological conditions (wind and atmospheric pressure), and river discharge. High water marks are often used to assess the extent of flooding and for navigation purposes.
