Debacle

A sudden and rapid breakup of river or lake ice, often occurring in spring due to rising temperatures and increased water flow. This event can lead to large ice floes moving downstream, potentially causing ice jams and flooding. The term also describes the catastrophic release of water from a glacial lake outburst flood.
