Hydrologic properties
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006330
The physical characteristics of soil, rock, or other porous media that govern the movement and storage of water. These properties include porosity, which determines the volume of water that can be stored, and hydraulic conductivity, which measures the ease with which water can flow through the material. They are fundamental parameters in models that simulate infiltration, runoff generation, and groundwater recharge following precipitation events.
