Hyperbolic point

A singular point in an atmospheric flow field where streamlines or trajectories exhibit a saddle-point configuration, characterized by both convergence and divergence. At such a point, the flow approaches from two opposite directions and diverges into two other opposite directions. These points are often associated with fronts or jet stream bifurcations.
