Flow pattern
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005646
The characteristic arrangement of streamlines or trajectories that describe the movement of a fluid, such as air or water, within a specific region or system. It illustrates the spatial distribution of velocity vectors and can indicate areas of convergence, divergence, or rotation. Examples include laminar flow, turbulent flow, or cellular convection patterns.
