Singular point
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008895
A point in a mathematical system where a function or its derivatives are undefined, or where the behavior of a system changes abruptly. In atmospheric dynamics, this can refer to points where equations become degenerate or where flow patterns exhibit unique characteristics, such as stagnation points or critical layers. These points often indicate regions of complex or unstable behavior.
