Singular value decomposition
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008896
A matrix factorization technique that decomposes a matrix into three other matrices, revealing its underlying structure and properties. In atmospheric science, it is used for data analysis, such as identifying dominant modes of variability in climate data or for noise reduction. It is a powerful tool for empirical orthogonal function (EOF) analysis.
