Phase matrix
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007892
A 4x4 matrix that describes the scattering properties of a medium, accounting for changes in both the intensity and polarization of electromagnetic radiation. It relates the Stokes parameters of incident light to those of scattered light. This matrix is particularly relevant for understanding radiative transfer in atmospheres containing non-spherical particles, such as ice crystals.
