International Pyrheliometric Scale

A standardized scale for measuring direct solar irradiance, maintained by the World Meteorological Organization. It provides a common reference for pyrheliometers, instruments that measure the direct beam radiation from the sun. The scale, established in 1956, is based on a reference group of standard pyrheliometers maintained at the World Radiation Center in Davos, Switzerland.
