Silver-disk pyrheliometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008881
An instrument designed to measure the intensity of direct solar radiation. It consists of a blackened silver disk that absorbs sunlight, with its temperature rise measured to infer the solar flux. This device is a primary standard for pyrheliometric measurements, often used for calibrating other radiometers.
