Interpluvial

A relatively warm and dry period occurring between two pluvial periods, which are characterized by increased rainfall. These periods represent fluctuations in regional climate, often associated with shifts in atmospheric circulation patterns. Interpluvials are identified through paleoclimatic proxies such as lake sediment records and pollen analysis.
