Isogeotherm

A line or surface within the Earth connecting points of equal temperature. In atmospheric science, the term is extended to represent a line of constant temperature on a chart depicting a vertical cross-section of the ground or ocean. Isogeotherms are used in studies of soil temperature, permafrost, and air-sea or air-land interaction.
