Isobar
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-001443
A line on a weather map or chart connecting points of equal atmospheric pressure at a given time or averaged over a period. These lines are typically drawn at standard intervals, such as every 4 millibars, to depict pressure patterns. Closely spaced isobars indicate a strong pressure gradient and higher wind speeds.
