Thickness line
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009625
A contour line on a thickness chart that connects points of equal geopotential thickness between two specified isobaric surfaces. These lines indicate regions of uniform mean temperature within the atmospheric layer they represent. Closely spaced thickness lines suggest a strong temperature gradient, often associated with frontal zones.
