Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006706

A line connecting points of equal value for a given variable on a map or chart. These lines are fundamental tools in meteorology for visualizing spatial distributions of atmospheric properties. Examples include isotherms for temperature, isobars for pressure, and isohyets for precipitation, each providing insight into weather patterns.
