Isotropic radiation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006730
Electromagnetic radiation that has the same intensity in all directions from its source. In atmospheric radiative transfer, this concept is often used as an idealization for diffuse radiation fields. The sun's radiation, for example, is not isotropic when viewed from Earth, as it comes from a specific direction.
