Knudsen's tables

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006800

A set of empirical tables and formulas that relate the chlorinity of seawater to its salinity, density, and other physical properties. Developed by Martin Knudsen, these tables were historically used to standardize oceanographic measurements. They provided a fundamental basis for understanding the physical characteristics of seawater before the advent of modern conductivity sensors.
