Salinometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008634
An instrument designed to measure the salinity of a solution, primarily seawater. It operates by determining the electrical conductivity of the water, which increases with higher salt concentrations. Modern salinometers can provide highly accurate readings, often calibrated against known standards like the International Practical Salinity Scale of 1978.
