Salinity bridge

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008633

An instrument used to measure the electrical conductivity of water, which is then correlated to its salinity. This device typically employs a Wheatstone bridge circuit to determine the resistance of a water sample, as the presence of dissolved salts increases conductivity. It provides a rapid and accurate method for assessing the salt content of water bodies.
