Land sky

The portion of the sky that appears brighter due to light reflected from a snow-covered or ice-covered land surface, as observed from a distance. This phenomenon is particularly noticeable in polar regions or areas with extensive snow cover. It can be used by navigators to detect the presence of land beyond the visible horizon.
