Lane
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006862
An elongated, relatively narrow band within a larger atmospheric system characterized by distinct weather properties. These features, such as a dry lane in a cyclone or a convergence lane in a convective field, mark boundaries or corridors of specific airflow, moisture content, or precipitation. For example, a cloud lane is a long, organized line of cumulus clouds aligned with the low-level wind direction.
