Cloud bar

A distinct, persistent, and relatively narrow line of cumuliform or stratocumuliform clouds. This feature is a specific type of cloud street that marks the updraft portion of a horizontal convective roll vortex in the planetary boundary layer. These bars are aligned parallel to the mean wind direction within the convective layer.
