Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006942

A very gentle wind of Beaufort force 1, blowing at 1 to 3 knots, which is 1 to 5 km/h or 1 to 3 mph. Smoke drifts and shows the wind direction, but wind vanes do not respond and leaves stay still, and the sea shows only small ripples without crests. It is the second-lowest category on the Beaufort scale, above calm.
