A hot, dry, and dusty wind that blows across the Indo-Gangetic Plain of northern India and Pakistan during the late spring and early summer months. This wind originates from the arid regions to the west and can cause severe heat stress. Temperatures during loo events often exceed 45 degrees Celsius.
