Lookup table
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007045
A data structure, often an array or hash map, used in computing to replace runtime computations with a simpler array indexing operation. In meteorology, lookup tables are used to store pre-calculated values for complex functions, such as radiative transfer calculations or thermodynamic properties of air. This method significantly speeds up numerical models and data processing.
