Microfront
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007275
A small-scale, short-lived frontal boundary that separates two air masses over a very short distance, on the order of tens of meters to a few kilometers. These features are associated with sharp, localized changes in temperature, humidity, and wind. Microfronts are found within larger weather systems, such as along the leading edge of a thunderstorm's outflow boundary or a sea-breeze front.
