Slope of a front

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008940

The inclination of a frontal surface, which is the boundary between two air masses of different temperatures and densities, relative to the Earth's surface. Cold fronts typically have a steeper slope than warm fronts, leading to more intense and localized weather phenomena. The slope is influenced by the temperature difference across the front and the Coriolis effect.
