Mountain fog

Fog that forms in mountainous terrain, often as moist air is lifted up slopes and cools adiabatically to its dew point. This type of fog can also result from clouds impinging on mountain peaks or ridges. It significantly reduces visibility and can persist for extended periods in high-altitude areas.
